How to wear glasses under your helmet?

Hi girls!

On the road I have to wear glasses to see all signs and so on clearly. My eyesight is not so bad, but I don´t like riding without glasses.

How are you wearing glasses? What are you doing so it is comfortable for you?

Here are some things I do:

– Wearing a flip-up helmet
I find this kind of helmet very comfortable, wheter I put on my glasses or just have a drink while a riding break

– I am wearing glasses with exchangeable eyeglass frames (temples?).
When I will wear the helmet I put on the ones that are very straight, that I can put on more easy than the curved ones.

– As I needed new glasses I went with my helmet to the optician.
They looked a bit confused until I told them, I want glasses/frames that fits well under my helmet. 😀

– Looking for a really safe place to put down my glasses around my bike.
A few times I didn´t think enough about where to put the glasses and just put it on the seat or so and then it falls on the ground. Now I try to find a place to hang up the glasses around the handlebar, put it has to hang safely otherwise it on the ground again.

What I don´t do:

Roadtrip – accomondations

Hi Girls!

Which kind of accomondation do you prefer? Camping or Hotel or Homestays or Hostel or?

Which things about the accomondation are important for you?

How far in advance do you plan your stays? And how long do you stay at one place?

Where are you looking for accomondations?

In 4 weeks I am going on my 4.th roadtrip. I can´t wait to get out. 😀

I prefer hotels, B&Bs, hostels or things like that. And I am always looking if there will be a parking space. And to have a hairdryer ist great. 😉

My last trips to Germany, Finnland and Norway and the Czech Republic I booked the most accomondations one or two days before arrival. So I can decide how far I will ride the next day. At first I booked a lot with booking.com and a bit Googlemaps. But now I compare the price on the own hotel-website. Often I get there a better deal.

For my upcoming trip to Ireland I already booked almost all accomondations because it looked like I would not get something in my pricerange in a short term booking. This time I will stay 4 nights in Westport and in Killarney with 2 nights in different hotels in between. Than there´s one night I still have to choose. And 2 nights in Drogheda and near Belfast. From there I will take a ferry to scotland and after 2 more nights the next ferry back to the netherlands and further home to Germany. I am so excited!

Here two great hotel/cabin parking spaces:

Start of the season!!!

⚡️ Start of the season!!! ⚡️

Spring is coming Birds are chirping.

Time to twist the throttle again!

Are you getting your motorcycle out of hibernation? Then it’s time to check a few things!

⚡️ Your motorcycle:

  • Clean thoroughly ⚡️
  • Tires ⚡️
  • Check tire tread and air pressure.
  • Do you need new tires at the start of the season or does the tire still have good tread?
  • Does the tire have a flat side due to the standing time and does it behave unusually while driving?
  • Battery ⚡️
  • did you expand them? Then check the charge level and reinstall.
  • Otherwise check the charge and, if necessary, the liquid level.
  • Liquids ⚡️
  • Is the oil level ok? Is it time for an oil change?
  • Sufficient coolant?
  • Check brakes and clutch: ⚡️
  • Is the brake fluid level okay?
  • Are the brake pads thick enough?
  • Are the brake and clutch cables OK?
  • Brake and clutch levers: do the pressure and friction points fit, do they return correctly to the starting position?
  • Chain, pinion and gear: ⚡️
  • Is the chain tension okay?
  • Is she still well greased?
  • Are the pinion and gear worn out?
  • Shock absorber and fork ⚡️
  • Are the seals okay? Do they dip well and bounce back easily?
  • Are steering head, wheel and swingarm bearings free-moving?
  • Lighting systems: ⚡️
  • Are turn signals, headlights, rear lights, brake lights functional and adjusted correctly?

⚡️ Your equipment:

Is everything still OK? Are the helmet, motorcycle clothing, gloves and boots in order? If there are tears, broken seams or other damage, it means repairing or replacing.

If you haven’t already done so in winter: clean everything, grease leather, impregnate textiles.

⚡️ You yourself:

Are you rusty over winter? Or did you keep moving?

If you haven’t ridden in a while, start slowly and maybe practice a few maneuvers. It is best to start on a familiar route to get back on your bike.
